What if you don't know how to be still?
Slowing down is not always easy but it is possible.
For many of us, slowing down is not easy to do. Work, school, kids, making meals, laundry, errands…they all can become a blur in the familiar routine. We end up rushing through routines, therefore, treating them as tasks rather than something to experience. When we finally pause, it can all feel unfamiliar.
There’s nothing you need to do perfectly.
In contrast to the long list of to do's, stillness demands nothing. Warm water. A familiar scent. A moment without urgency. A natural soap bar in your hand. You can notice your shoulders soften. Then, a nice deep breath in the steam of the water running down your back. Your thoughts begin to quiet. Not all at once, but gently and little by little.
Allow yourself a moment of stillness.
The Art of Care doesn’t have to be complicated. One intentional act can turn into that sweet space you so needed. Sometimes, it begins with just allowing yourself to be still. Will you?
